Like many people I'd assumed that those big box stores in the suburbs were to the place to go for the best prices and product selection. Nonetheless, there are times when it's just too much bother, and in any case it occurred to me that Grace's Places ought to support businesses in the neighbourhoods in which it operates. And when I started to explore these neighbourhoods I discovered stores that offer most of the same products as the big box stores, often at the same or better prices, while providing more service (and more knowledgeable service) at the same time. If you've read the Home page you will know that I work as a photojournalist... which sounds a bit more glamorous than "newspaper photographer". To be a bit more specific, I work for the Toronto Star, and as of tomorrow will have worked at the Star for forty-one (Yikes!) years.
