Another mini-makeover

It's always sad to see a tenant move out, but it's more bearable when they are moving from one Grace's Places apartment to another, as was the case when T & C left their one-bedroom apartment at my Annex building to move into my favourite apartment at my Cabbagetown property. If nothing else, it gives me a chance to freshen up and modernize. In this case, we didn't do a lot except repaint the walls, replace the doors on the kitchen cabinets and retrofit some LED lighting. Nonetheless, notwithstanding that the original reno was done fifteen years ago the apartment looks better than ever, giving me an an excuse to make and post some more photographs to illustrate the features of one of the "Deluxe" Annex one-bedroom units.

The living, dining and kitchen functions are combined in one open-concept room about 25' x 10'.

The kitchen cabinets are Ikea's high-gloss white "Abstrakt" design. There's abundant counter space, some of which can be used as a writing table (or a place to read cookbooks).

Appliances include a bottom-freezer fridge with pull-out freezer drawer, an ultra-quiet dishwasher by Blomberg, a 5-burner gas range and an over-the-range microwave oven. All appliances are EnergyStar qualified, of course.

The bedroom has maple hardwood flooring, a bay window, a large and effective thermostatic ceiling fan and a "molten glass" door.

The bathroom has been updated with LED lighting and a new 2-piece shower head.

At the end (or at the beginning) of the day tenants can relax on the covered veranda overlooking Dalton Rd.
